Know before you buy
Quick answers about the CCSD-DL2, and how it compares.
What is new in the CCSD-DL2 and DS2?
A smaller, lighter body in matt black. Same microphone, loudspeaker, headphone socket and functions as the CCSD-DL and DS; both generations work together in one system.
Long or short microphone?
Long (480 mm) for large tables and seats further from the device. Short (310 mm) for small tables where people sit close. Both have the same sound quality and functions.
Can any device be the chairperson device?
Tabletop devices: yes. Clip on the chairperson buttons and move the switch under the device. CCSD-DL2 and DS2 need the CCSD-DCBCM button set (ask us). Flush seats: use the CCSD-FCML, which has its own priority button.
What do the lights mean?
White: you may switch your microphone on. Green: you are in the waiting list; it flashes when you are next. Red ring on the microphone: your microphone is on.
Can participants use headphones?
Yes. Tabletop devices have a headphone socket with a volume wheel.
Does the camera follow the speaker?
Yes. With the optional Unear V51X network camera, the control unit steers the camera over the network to the seat whose microphone is on. When the microphone goes off, the camera returns to the room view. No operator is needed.
Can it work with Teams or Zoom?
Yes. The control unit sends the microphone sound to your video conferencing system and plays the far end through the device loudspeakers. The Unear V51X is a network camera; its HDMI or USB output goes to the meeting PC or codec, so the far end sees who is speaking.
How are the devices connected?
Each device has a 2 m cable that plugs into the next device, and so on back to the control unit. Up to 40 devices per cable run. Devices can be added or removed without restarting.
What do I need for a system?
A control unit (CCSD-CURD). One discussion device per seat: tabletop CCSD-DL2 or DS2, or flush-mounted CCSD-FDL and CCSD-FCML. For more than 80 seats, add a CCSD-EXU extension unit. Optional: the Unear V51X camera that follows the speaker.
