Know before you buy
Quick answers about the DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELW/26, and how it compares.
How far can it see?
42x optical zoom (6 to 252 mm) brings distant scenes close without losing detail, unlike digital zoom. At night: illumination IR/White 300m/30m (IR on the PTZ lens, white light on the wide lens).
How fast does it turn?
It pans at up to 240°/s and tilts at up to 200°/s (preset speed).
Why two lenses?
The wide 6MP lens (190° view) records the whole area all the time, while the PTZ lens zooms in on what matters, so nothing is missed while the PTZ looks elsewhere. Linkage between the two: tracking takeover and linked tracking capture.
Does it follow a moving target?
Yes. With auto-tracking 3.0 the camera pans, tilts and zooms to keep a moving target in view.
Which alerts does it give?
Line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and exit. Deep learning tells people from vehicles, so leaves, rain and animals raise fewer false alarms. It also captures faces (up to 30 at once). At checkpoints it can read licence plates.
How is it powered?
A Hi-PoE (802.3bt) switch port powers it over the network cable; a standard PoE or PoE+ port is not enough. Or use a 36 VDC power supply. See our PoE switches.
What else do I need?
A Hikvision NVR to record it, a switch port or power supply, a network cable and a wall or pole bracket. Tell us the site and our engineers send a free BOQ.
