What is 316L stainless steel for?
316L is marine-grade stainless steel. It resists salt air and chemicals much longer than a painted body, so the camera lasts at sea-side sites, ports, chemical plants and water treatment works.
What happens to my recordings if a hard disk fails or the NVR is stolen?
With a microSD card in the camera, the last days of video stay inside the camera, even if the hard disk fails or thieves take the NVR. If the network drops, the camera records to the card and the NVR copies the gap back later. On the NVR side, RAID models (86xx, 96xx) lose nothing when one disk fails; other NVRs lose only the video on the failed disk.
