2-wire, 4-wire or IP intercom: which one do I need?
4-wire analog is the simplest for one house: one door station, one or two indoor stations, basic video. 2-wire IP runs on the old two-core intercom cable but gives IP features, good for replacing an old system in a building without new cabling. IP uses a network cable (PoE) to every station and gives HD video, app calls on your phone, and scales to any number of flats. Stations of one system type do not work with another. Ask us and we match the parts to your house or building.
Can I answer the door from my phone?
Yes, with the IP models: the Hik-Connect app rings on your phone when a visitor presses the button, you see and talk to them, and you can open the door from anywhere. The door station needs an internet connection at the house. Analog 4-wire stations do not call the phone.
