How do the recordings get off the body camera?

Two ways. At the end of the shift the officer puts the camera in a dock station (DS-MDS005 or DS-MDS001): it charges the camera, uploads every clip, picture and audio file to its own disks or to HikCentral, and clears the camera for the next shift. Cameras with a SIM card (/GLE models) can also send clips, alarms and the officer's GPS position live over 4G while the shift is running. A Wi-Fi only camera uploads when it is back in range of the station network.

How does the footage get off the camera?

At the end of the shift the camera goes into its dock station, which charges it and copies the recordings to the dock storage or the evidence server, with the officer, time and device logged. Single-camera docks suit a small team; multi-bay docks and expansion units suit a station. Clips can also be pulled over Wi-Fi or 4G on models that have it.
