Does the DS-TMG022 work on its own?
No. It needs the DS-TMG023 loop coil: a wire loop laid in a slot cut into the road in front of the boom and sealed. One coil per lane, connected to the detector in the barrier cabinet; the detector then connects to the loop input of the barrier. Order the detector and the coil together.
Loop detector or radar, which should I choose?
Both tell the barrier that something is under or in front of the boom. The loop is cut into the road, senses vehicles only and is the long-standing method; it needs road cutting and a new coil if the road is resurfaced. The DS-TMG035 or DS-TMG034 anti-fall radar mounts on the barrier housing with no road work, is set up from a phone app and also holds the boom up for a person under it. On an existing paved site we usually propose the radar; on a new build or a heavy lane the loop is the proven choice.
Which barrier gates does it work with?
The Hikvision barrier gates we supply: DS-TMG300-D, DS-TMG320, DS-TMG420, DS-TMG4B0 and DS-TMG520 series. Each has a loop input in its control board; our engineers wire and test it with the barrier at installation.
