On-line or back-up UPS: which one do I need?

A back-up (line-interactive) UPS like the DS-UPS600-R runs the load from the mains and switches to battery in about 10 ms when power fails; fine for a DVR, NVR, router or PC. An on-line double conversion UPS (DS-UPS01K24 and up) always feeds the load from its inverter, so dirty generator power, brownouts and spikes never reach the equipment and there is no switch-over gap. Choose on-line for servers, access control, HikCentral and anything on a generator. Size it so the load is 60 to 70 percent of the W rating, and add an external battery pack if you need more than a few minutes. Ask us for a load calculation.
