Know before you buy
Quick answers about the HF-S3E, and how it compares.
Standalone, interlinked or panel: which smoke alarm do I need?
A standalone alarm (HF-S2, HF-S3E) sounds only where the smoke is; fine for a shop, a store room or one flat. Interlinked alarms (HF-S3E-R) talk to each other by radio, so a fire in the kitchen wakes the bedrooms upstairs; right for a house, hostel or guest house, with no wiring. A building with many rooms, a basement or an escape route that must be managed needs a fire alarm panel with wired detectors, which the fire code usually asks for; Ask us and we design it. The Hikfire cameras add early warning to any of these but do not replace the panel.

How is a fire detection camera different from a smoke detector?
A smoke detector waits for smoke to reach the ceiling. A fire detection camera watches the area: the HF-VH series senses the temperature of what it sees and alarms when something gets too hot, and the HF-VT fusion models also see a flame at a distance and smoke in the picture, so the alarm comes earlier and the operator can check it on video. It is an extra layer for a kitchen, warehouse, substation or store room, not a replacement for the fire alarm system the building code asks for.
