Which boom length do I need?
The boom covers the lane, so measure the lane width. H takes a 3 m boom, M a 4 m boom and L a 5 or 6 m boom. Telescopic booms (4 to 6 m) are adjustable on site. Booms of 5 m and longer get a support rod at the far end.
What stops the boom hitting a car?
Two things. The boom rebounds as soon as it touches something while closing. And an anti-fall radar (DS-TMG035 or DS-TMG034), a loop detector in the road or an IR beam holds the boom up while a car or person is under it. The barrier has one input for any of the three.
Can it open by number plate?
Yes. A Hikvision entrance ANPR camera such as the DS-TCG406-E reads the plate and switches the barrier through its relay output. Listed cars (up to 100,000) get in without a guard, also when the network is down.
What happens in a power cut?
The boom stays where it is. A tool releases the lock so the guard can lift it by hand. With the optional DS-TMG060-52 supercapacitor board the boom rises on its own when the power fails, so no car is trapped.
Light boom or arrow indicator: what is the difference?
/B versions have an arrow indicator on the body: green arrow when open, red when closed. /A/B versions add an LED strip inside the boom that shows green when open and red otherwise, visible from far away at night.
How many remotes can it take?
One 433 MHz remote (DS-TMG012-5) comes in the box. Hikvision pairs up to 48 remotes with a 42 or 52 Series barrier.
