1 Line (Value Series): the body is often plastic or part plastic (it differs by model, so check the specs), with Motion Detection 2.0 or 3.0 for people and vehicle alerts. Good for homes, shops and small offices.

G0 has ordinary motion detection: it alerts on anything that moves, also cats, leaves and car lights. G2 first checks for a person or vehicle (Motion Detection 2.0 on 1 Line, AcuSense on 2 Line), so you get far fewer false alarms. The camera detects motion; the NVR records and helps you find clips. This camera has no people and vehicle filter of its own. A Hikvision AI NVR (NXI) can add people and vehicle alerts to it, and line crossing or face recognition on 1 or 2 cameras.

This camera detects faces (it knows a face is in the picture), but it does not save face photos itself. A Hikvision AI NVR (NXI-K or higher) can capture and recognise faces from it on a limited number of cameras. For good results, people should face the camera at head height, with light on their faces.

With a microSD card in the camera, the last days of video stay inside the camera, even if the hard disk fails or thieves take the NVR. If the network drops, the camera records to the card and the NVR copies the gap back later. On the NVR side, RAID models (86xx, 96xx) lose nothing when one disk fails; other NVRs lose only the video on the failed disk.
