Hand-held or walk-through metal detector: which one do I need?

A walk-through metal detector checks everyone quickly at a busy entrance. A hand-held detector finds the exact place of the metal after a walk-through alarm, and is enough on its own for small gates, exam halls and events. Walk-through gate or handheld detector?

The walk-through gate screens everyone at normal walking pace and shows where on the body the alarm came from; the handheld is the secondary check after an alarm, or the only check where a gate does not fit. Most entrances run a gate with one handheld beside it. Our engineers set the sensitivity for the site so keys and belts do not alarm while the target items do.
