How does an under vehicle scanner work?
The scanner is set into the road at the gate. As a vehicle drives over it, a line-scan camera with strong LED lights builds one clear image of the whole underside, and the guard checks it on screen for hidden weapons, explosives or smuggled goods. Linked with plate reading, each scan is compared with past images of the same vehicle, so changes stand out. Used at government buildings, hotels, embassies and other sensitive sites.
