Where does the PRA-IM16C8 fit?
It connects a Bosch PRAESENSA system to outside equipment: fire alarm panels, strobes and horns, indicator lights and speaker relays. It’s DIN-rail mounted right next to that equipment and linked to the [PRA-SCL] controller over the network.

What each input and output does is set in the PRAESENSA software.
Can it connect to a fire alarm panel?
Yes. Fire alarm zone contacts connect to the 16 supervised inputs to trigger the right evacuation messages in the right zones automatically. The cabling is supervised for open and short circuits, as EN 54-16 requires.
How is it powered and connected?
One shielded CAT5e cable carries both data and PoE power (IEEE 802.3af, 4.5 W). Add a second cable for redundant network and power, or loop through to the next device. Power it from a PoE port on the [PRA-ES8P2S] switch or another PRAESENSA device.
What are the 34 resistors in the box for?
They’re 10 kΩ supervision resistors for wiring at the far end of each input and trigger output: 16 inputs × 2, plus the 2 trigger outputs. They let the module tell a closed contact apart from a cable fault.
How does a PRAESENSA system fit together?
The [PRA-SCL] or [PRA-SCS] system controller is the brain: it routes all audio, plays messages and supervises every device. [Amplifiers], [multifunction power supplies] with battery backup and [call stations] all connect over one IP network using OMNEO, with loop-through cabling for redundancy. Up to 250 devices and 500+ zones per system, certified to EN 54-16 and ISO 7240-16.
Who supplies Bosch PRAESENSA in Pakistan, and what warranty do I get?
Electronic Security Company (ESCO) is the only authorized distributor of Bosch, Dynacord and Electro-Voice in Pakistan, so every PRAESENSA product we supply is genuine and comes with a 3-year warranty. Warranty is carry-in: bring the unit to an ESCO office and after inspection it is repaired or replaced as needed.
