Where does the PVA-2P500 fit?
The power amplifier of a Bosch PAVIRO system: 2 x 500 W for paging, background music and EN 54-16 voice evacuation, fed and controlled by the [PVA-4CR12] controller.
How much power does each channel get?
500 W per channel, 1,000 W in total, into 70 V (10 Ω) or 100 V (20 Ω) speaker lines. Each channel uses either the 70 V or the 100 V output, not both at once. It’s built for 70/100 V systems only, with no 4 Ω / 8 Ω drive. On battery power the output is limited by 3 dB.

Does it keep working during a power failure?
Yes. It runs on 115–240 V AC mains and switches automatically to a 24 V DC battery input (21–32 V) if mains fails, so evacuation messages keep playing. Standby draws just 1.9 W, which saves battery capacity.
Does it need a controller?
For a certified evacuation system, yes. The [PVA-4CR12] sends it four audio channels on one RJ-45 cable and controls and supervises it over the CAN bus. With the CAN address set to 00, it can also run stand-alone as a 70/100 V amplifier with local Euroblock inputs.
What does it monitor?
Ground faults on the speaker outputs, overload, temperature, mains and battery voltage, the CAN bus link and its own processor. With the [PVA-4CR12] or [PVA-4R24] it also does pilot tone monitoring to catch a missing signal or broken line. Faults show on the front panel and in IRIS-Net.
How is it installed?
2U in a standard 19" rack. At 16.5 kg, use rack rails. Units can be stacked with the supplied feet. Cooling runs front-to-rear with temperature-controlled fans. A power-on delay can be set per amplifier in IRIS-Net, so a full rack doesn’t trip the breaker at switch-on.
How does a PAVIRO system fit together?
The [PVA-4CR12] is the brain: 4 audio channels, 12 zones, message manager and full supervision. It sends audio over one RJ-45 cable and controls [PVA-2P500] amplifiers (2 x 500 W) over the CAN bus. [PVA-4R24] routers add 24 zones each, up to 492 per controller. [PVA-15CST] call stations connect to its four call station ports, up to 16 in total. The whole system is certified to EN 54-16 for voice evacuation.
