Know before you buy
Quick answers about the D1, and how it compares.
Does the D1 have a screen?
No. The D1 is screenless to keep it small and discreet behind the mirror. You view live video, play back clips and change settings in the phone app over Wi-Fi.
D1 or D1 Pro: which should I choose?
The D1 Pro records in 2K (1440P) instead of 1080P and has a brighter F1.55 lens, so plates are clearer and night video is better. It also takes cards up to 256 GB. For about Rs. 1,700 more it is the better buy if you drive at night or on highways; the D1 is fine for daytime city driving.
D1 or K2?
They record exactly the same: 1080P, the same 102° view, F2.0 lens, Wi-Fi app and G-sensor. Only the body differs. The D1 is a slim cylinder that rotates 360° to aim the lens and takes an optional parking kit; the K2 is a taller, fixed body (78 × 36 × 52 mm). Pick the shape that sits best behind your mirror.
What happens to the video if there is an accident?
The built-in G-sensor feels a crash, hard braking or a strong jolt and saves that clip as a locked event file. Normal recording loops and overwrites the oldest footage when the card is full, but locked clips are kept, so the evidence is still there when you need it.
