Know before you buy
Quick answers about the D1Pro, and how it compares.
What does the 'Pro' add over the D1?
2K instead of 1080P, a brighter F1.55 lens instead of F2.0, and support for cards up to 256 GB instead of 128 GB. In practice that means sharper plates and cleaner night footage.
1080P, 2K, 3.5K or 4K: how much difference does resolution make?
More pixels means number plates and road signs stay readable from further away and when you zoom into a clip. 1080P is about 2 million pixels, 2K (1440P) about 3.7 million, 3.5K (3000×1688) about 5 million and 4K (2160P) about 8.3 million, so 4K holds four times the detail of 1080P. For city driving 2K is a good balance; for highways and night driving 4K gives the best chance of reading a plate.
D1 Pro or K5?
Both record 2K. The K5 adds a 3.93 inch touch screen, voice commands and a lens you can angle by 15°. Choose the D1 Pro if you want the smallest, most discreet camera and are happy using the app.
What happens to the video if there is an accident?
The built-in G-sensor feels a crash, hard braking or a strong jolt and saves that clip as a locked event file. Normal recording loops and overwrites the oldest footage when the card is full, but locked clips are kept, so the evidence is still there when you need it.
Where can I buy it with warranty and support in Pakistan?
ESCO supplies Hikvision dashcams across Pakistan from esco.pk with a 1-year warranty and local after-sales support. Dashcams are simple to fit yourself, and any car accessories or service shop can install one; ESCO also offers installation in the cities where we operate.
Will it record when the car is parked and switched off?
Yes, with the Buckline MINI hardwire kit, sold separately (see Accessories below). The kit powers the camera from the fuse box, so it stays on guard with the engine off. In parking mode the G-sensor wakes the camera when the car is hit, bumped or scratched, records the moment and locks the clip so it cannot be overwritten. The kit has low-voltage protection: it switches the camera off before the battery gets too low to start the car. Without a hardwire kit the camera runs from the cigarette lighter socket, which most cars switch off with the ignition, so it stops recording when you leave.
How does it compare with the other Hikvision dashcams?
