Know before you buy
Quick answers about the H8c Pro 3K 4G (R210) , and how it compares.
How does the 4G work, and does it need Wi-Fi?
No Wi-Fi needed. Put a 4G SIM with a data bundle in the camera and it connects over the mobile network, so it suits farms, building sites, warehouses and second homes with no internet. Where Wi-Fi or a network cable is available it can use those instead. It does need mains power; the 12 V adapter is in the box.
Which SIM works, and how much data does it use?
A 4G SIM from any Pakistani mobile network, with a data bundle. Check the signal where the camera will go before mounting it. Alerts and short clips use little data; long live viewing uses the most (up to about 2.5 Mbps at the highest quality). Recording to the microSD card uses no data at all.
H8c Pro 3K 4G or H8c Pro 3K?
Same 5MP pan and tilt camera. The H8c Pro 3K connects on Wi-Fi or a cable. The H8c Pro 3K 4G also runs on a SIM card, for places with no internet, and is rated IP66.
H8c Pro 3K 4G or H8c 4G?
Both run on a 4G SIM, pan and tilt, and detect people and vehicles. The H8c Pro 3K 4G is sharper (5MP vs 3MP) and also connects on Wi-Fi; the H8c 4G is the 3MP option.
Which H8c should I choose?
All H8c models pan and tilt to cover the whole area, see in colour at night (IR up to 30 m), talk both ways and warn intruders with a siren and strobe. They differ in megapixels and how they connect:
| Model | Megapixels | Connection | Detects |
|---|---|---|---|
| H8c 1080P | 2MP | Wi-Fi | People |
| H8c 2K | 3MP | Network cable (PoE), no Wi-Fi | People |
| H8c Pro 2K | 3MP | Wi-Fi or cable | People |
| H8c 2K⁺ | 4MP | Wi-Fi or cable | People |
| H8c Pro 3K | 5MP | Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) or cable | People and vehicles |
| H8c Pro 3K 4G | 5MP | 4G SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi or cable | People and vehicles |
| H8c Pro 4K | 8MP | Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) or cable | People and vehicles |
| H8c 4G | 3MP | 4G SIM or cable | People and vehicles |
Good Wi-Fi at the spot: a Wi-Fi model; where 2.4 GHz is crowded, the H8c Pro 3K and Pro 4K also work on 5 GHz. Weak Wi-Fi but a cable run: the H8c 2K on PoE. No internet at all: the H8c 4G or H8c Pro 3K 4G.
IR, colour night vision or ColorFULL: what is the difference?
IR night vision uses invisible infrared light. It works in total darkness and reaches the furthest, but the video is black and white.
Colour night vision switches on white spotlights, usually when it detects someone, so the video is in colour and clothes, cars and faces are easier to tell apart. The sudden light also warns intruders off.
ColorFULL (H8x 2K⁺ and H80x Dual) uses a large sensor and a very bright F1.0 lens to record colour from very little light, such as a street lamp, without switching any lights on. In complete darkness it falls back to IR.
Does it scare off intruders?
Yes. When it detects a person it can sound a siren and flash its strobe light, and you can talk to visitors live through the EZVIZ app with two-way talk. Switch the warnings on or off in the app.
What do 2K, 3K and 4K mean in megapixels?
Brands use 2K, 3K and 4K loosely, so compare cameras by megapixels:
| Megapixels | Sold as | Pixels |
|---|---|---|
| 2MP | 1080p, Full HD | 1920 × 1080 |
| 3MP | 2K | 2304 × 1296 |
| 4MP | 2K⁺, QHD | 2560 × 1440 |
| 5MP | 3K | 2880 × 1620 |
| 8MP | 4K, UHD | 3840 × 2160 |
More megapixels keep faces and number plates readable when you zoom into a recording. For a room 2MP to 3MP is enough; for a gate, driveway or shop front, 4MP and above is worth it.
How does it record, and do I need a subscription?
Video is saved on a microSD card in the camera (not included). When the card is full, the oldest video is overwritten automatically. ESCO stocks genuine EZVIZ cards in 64 GB and 128 GB.
No subscription is needed: live view, playback, alerts and AI detection all work in the free EZVIZ app. EZVIZ CloudPlay is an optional paid plan that also keeps alert clips online, so they are safe even if the camera or card is stolen.
