What is the benefit of built-in eMMC storage?
Besides the microSD card, the G2 Pro has its own built-in memory. Event clips are kept there too, so the evidence survives even if the card fails, fills up or is removed.
G2 Pro or G2 Pro-P?
The difference is where the rear camera goes. The G2 Pro's rear camera mounts outside the car and is IP66 weatherproof. The G2 Pro-P has a pillar-type rear camera installed inside the cabin, so nothing is fitted to the outside of the car; that is why it costs more. Everything else is the same.
What does the 4G box add?
The optional 4G box gives the dashcam its own mobile-data connection, so you can reach it from the app even when you are away from the car. ESCO stocks the 4G box, and it is PTA approved for use in Pakistan. It works with the C8 Pro and G2 Pro series.
Where can I buy it with warranty and support in Pakistan?
ESCO supplies Hikvision dashcams across Pakistan from esco.pk with a 1-year warranty and local after-sales support. Dashcams are simple to fit yourself, and any car accessories or service shop can install one; ESCO also offers installation in the cities where we operate.
What does ADAS do on this dashcam?
ADAS (advanced driver assistance) uses the camera to give voice alerts: when the traffic light turns green, the speed limit on the road you are on, and when the car in front moves off and you have not. It is camera based, so a green shop front or trees can trigger the green-light alert now and then.
Will it record when the car is parked and switched off?
Yes. Parking monitoring is built in and the hardwire kit comes in the box: connect it to the fuse box and the camera stays on guard with the engine off. In parking mode the G-sensor wakes the camera when the car is hit, bumped or scratched, records the moment and locks the clip so it cannot be overwritten. The kit has low-voltage protection: it switches the camera off before the battery gets too low to start the car.
