The VCS-8 is a paging call station used to make live announcements to individual zones, groups of zones, or an entire building's audio system — commonly used in restaurants, hotels, retail outlets, houses of worship, and educational facilities running a Dynacord V Series zone audio system.
Up to 8 VCS-8 call stations can be daisy-chained to a single VZX-8 processor, connected via RJ45 accessory ports with a maximum cable length of 1,640 ft (500m) per port.
It's powered over the accessory bus from the VZX-8 (48VDC, bus powered) using 2x RJ45 connections (in/out for daisy-chaining). No separate power supply is needed.

Paired with EVID ceiling or surface-mount speakers distributed throughout corridors, announcements, bell schedules, and emergency messages come through clearly across the whole facility, all managed from one call station at the front desk.
Restaurants & Bars
Restaurants and bars run multiple distinct zones at once — main dining, bar area, host stand, kitchen, restrooms, and sometimes a live music corner — each needing independent volume control and the occasional live announcement without disrupting the rest of the venue. The VCS-8 lets staff page a single zone (last call at the bar, a reservation callout at the host stand) or reach the entire venue at once, with busy indication and mutual exclusion keeping multiple call stations from talking over each other during a rush.
