Know before you buy
Quick answers about the H90 Dual 2K⁺ (4MP+4MP), and how it compares.
What makes the H90 Dual different from a single-lens camera?
Two 4MP lenses that turn separately: the top lens pans 220° with an ultra-wide view, the bottom lens pans 324° and tilts 90°. They can watch two directions at once, or the bottom lens can follow a person or vehicle the top lens spots. One camera covers what would normally need two.
How far can it see at night?
Up to 40 m in colour when both lenses face the same way, with four spotlights. You can also choose black-and-white IR, or smart mode, which lights up only when motion is detected.
H90 Dual 2K⁺ or H90 Dual 5MP+5MP?
Same camera; the 5MP+5MP model has sharper lenses for zooming into recordings.
H90 Dual or the solar HB90 Dual kit?
The HB90 Dual kit is the same dual-lens idea on a battery with an 8 W solar panel, for spots with no power. The H90 Dual runs on a power cable, adds an Ethernet port and costs less.
How do the EZVIZ dual-lens cameras compare?
| Model | Lenses | Night | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| C8PF | 2MP wide + 2MP telephoto, 8× zoom | IR 30 m | Details far away |
| H9c Dual 3K | 5MP wide + 5MP close-up | Colour, IR 30 m | Sharp detail, 2.4 / 5 GHz Wi-Fi |
| H90 Dual 2K⁺ | 4MP + 4MP, each lens turns | Colour up to 40 m | Two directions from one camera |
| H90 Dual 5MP+5MP | 5MP + 5MP, each lens turns | Colour up to 40 m | The same, sharper |
| H80x Dual | 8MP + low-light lens | ColorFULL | Colour at night without lights |
| HB90 Dual kit | 4MP + 4MP, battery and solar | Colour up to 35 m | No power at the spot |
What do 2K, 3K and 4K mean in megapixels?
Brands use 2K, 3K and 4K loosely, so compare cameras by megapixels:
| Megapixels | Sold as | Pixels |
|---|---|---|
| 2MP | 1080p, Full HD | 1920 × 1080 |
| 3MP | 2K | 2304 × 1296 |
| 4MP | 2K⁺, QHD | 2560 × 1440 |
| 5MP | 3K | 2880 × 1620 |
| 8MP | 4K, UHD | 3840 × 2160 |
More megapixels keep faces and number plates readable when you zoom into a recording. For a room 2MP to 3MP is enough; for a gate, driveway or shop front, 4MP and above is worth it.
How does it record, and do I need a subscription?
Video is saved on a microSD card in the camera (not included). When the card is full, the oldest video is overwritten automatically. ESCO stocks genuine EZVIZ cards in 64 GB and 128 GB.
No subscription is needed: live view, playback, alerts and AI detection all work in the free EZVIZ app. EZVIZ CloudPlay is an optional paid plan that also keeps alert clips online, so they are safe even if the camera or card is stolen.
What does it need to connect, and does it keep recording if the internet goes down?
It connects to your home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz on most models), and many models also have an Ethernet port for a network cable where Wi-Fi is weak. Check the Wi-Fi signal on your phone at the mounting spot first; a Wi-Fi extender or a cable fixes a weak spot.
If the internet goes down, the camera keeps recording to its microSD card. You only lose live view and alerts on your phone until the connection is back.
