Quick answers about the LCE-06CWE, and how it compares.
Which Entry Level ceiling loudspeaker do I need?
| Model | Build | EN54-24 | Frequency range | SPL 1 W, 1 m (1 kHz) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LCE-06CW | ABS frame, steel grille | No | 65 Hz to 14.7 kHz | 87 dB |
| LCE-06MW | Steel frame and grille | No | 65 Hz to 14.6 kHz | 88 dB |
| LCE-06CWE | ABS frame, steel grille, back can | Yes | 200 Hz to 15.8 kHz | 90 dB |
| LCE-06MWE | Steel frame and grille, back can | Yes | 200 Hz to 17.5 kHz | 91 dB |
All four are 6 W (6 / 3 W taps) with a 6-inch driver, spring clamps and the 180 mm cut-out. For voice alarm projects choose an EN54-24 model. Also in the range: LC3-UC06, LC3-UC06E and LHM0606/10.
What is the difference between Entry, Mid and Performance Level?
- Entry Level: speech and alarm tones in public address and voice alarm; cost-efficient, nothing more, nothing less.
- Mid Level: high-quality speech plus background music, metal fire dome, more installation features. Mid Level horns add long throw and aluminium for demanding sites.
- Performance Level: evacuation and high-quality music in one housing.
It is about the job, not the price: if you only need alarm tones in an emergency, an Entry Level loudspeaker is reliable and perfectly fine. Pick Mid or Performance for background music, easier installation or more robust materials. Horns: Entry, Mid, Performance.
What cut-out does the ceiling loudspeaker need?
The new series is standardized on 180 mm: every Entry and Mid Level model and the 4-inch LCP-20MWE. The 6.5-inch LCP-30MWE needs 272 mm.
Replacing older loudspeakers? Their EN54 cut-outs differ: LBC3099 210 mm, LC1-MFD and LC1-MFDS 190 mm, LC1-CMR 200 mm, LBC3086 196 mm, LC4-MFD 178 mm, LC4-CBB 162 mm, LC3-UM06E 170 mm. Ask us for the right model for your existing holes.
What does EN54-24 mean?
EN 54-24 is the European standard for loudspeakers in voice alarm (evacuation) systems. Certified models show EN54-24 in the banner at the top of their page; the others show Non-EN54 and suit commercial public address and music. For an evacuation system, use EN54-24 loudspeakers throughout.
What do the power taps mean?
Each loudspeaker can be set to one of its power taps, for example 6 / 3 W. Choose a lower tap for small or quiet areas and a higher tap for large or noisy ones. Add up the taps of every loudspeaker on a line: the amplifier must deliver at least that total.
Many 6 W ceiling loudspeakers are tapped down to 3 W, 1.5 W or 0.75 W in the field; in smaller or low-noise areas 3 W is more than enough.
Can I get the loudspeakers in a custom colour?
Yes. Bosch paints loudspeakers in any RAL colour to blend in with the architecture of hotels, malls, airports and similar projects. The paint is durable, suits indoor and outdoor use, keeps the EN54 certification and has a 3-year warranty. Tell us the models, quantities and RAL code.
Who supplies Bosch loudspeakers in Pakistan, and what warranty do I get?
Electronic Security Company (ESCO) is the only authorized distributor of Bosch, Dynacord and Electro-Voice in Pakistan, so every Bosch loudspeaker is genuine and comes with a 3-year warranty. Warranty is carry-in: bring the unit to an ESCO office and after inspection it is repaired or replaced as needed.
We supply, design and install public address and voice alarm systems, with offices and stock in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi and dealers across Pakistan.
Which speaker for a masjid?
A masjid needs three kinds of coverage.
Prayer hall: wall-mounted cabinet speakers such as LB2-UC15-L1 / LB2-UC30-L1 or LB1-UM20E-L, or column speakers such as LA1-UM20E-1 / LA1-UM40E-1, LA1-UW36-L1 or the LBC3200/00 line array. They carry speech the length of a hall with hard walls and keep it clear; ceiling speakers in a high hall do not. For a premium sound use Electro-Voice EVID surface speakers (EVID-S5.2TB, EVID-S8.2TB); for a high-end hall with long reverberation, the Electro-Voice LRC column speakers (LRC-1060-B, LRC-1100-B, LRC-2100-B), supplied on request.
Low-ceiling rooms, ablution areas, corridors and offices: ceiling speakers (LC1, LC3, LCM, LHM ranges).
Minaret and courtyard: horn speakers LBC3482/00, LBC3483/00, LBC3484/00 or LBC3481/12, LH3-UC25XL for very long throw, or the LBC3474/00 50 W driver on an LBC3479/00 20" flare for the minaret.
Coverage depends on the acoustic characteristics of the hall (size, height, hard or soft surfaces, reverberation), so the best suggestion comes from ESCO's Bosch and Electro-Voice certified engineers: take the free pre-sales consultation and they will size the amplifier and the number of speakers for your masjid.
